This Natural Top Vase has a wonderful, wild grain and woody appearance. Melvin and his son Mark created many natural edge vessels in the 70's and 80's. The influence of the vessels would be far reaching in the field, as now the "natural edge" is a standard component of most turners' "form pallette". History speaks for itself in this beautiful vase, replete with the imperfections that make Melvin's work distinctive.

This Oak Burl Has
an extremely tight grain, with a chocolate-brown color including some interesting yellows. The wood retains bark inclusions and large dormant buds. Exceptional character..
